The mission of Jefferson County Arts Association is to be a catalyst for artistic endeavors, thought and education, to provide outreach for the underprivileged in the arts, to be a venue for exchange of ideas and self expression, to act as a forum where all forms of art are fostered and creative and intellectual achievements are celebrated.
We encourage early involvement in the arts with free art classes and student exhibitions at the gallery and offer three yearly scholarships of $500 each for students continuing on in the arts. We feature local artists as well as a host of accomplished northwest artists, a new exhibit featured every month. We are a venue for traveling exhibitions including Art About Agriculture, and the Oregon Watercolor Society and bring in guest speakers and Chataqua scholars in our work to bring this isolated community together and expose the population to outside events.
All of this good work comes from the dedication of our volunteers, who have helped this organization survive for 24 years. In 2007 we were awarded the Governor's Group Volunteer Award, and twice have been recipients of the "Artie" award from Arts Central in Bend.
Jefferson County Arts Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Our funding comes from gallery sales, membership and the occasional grant.
